Fuel flow calibration services for general automotive applications and FIA-homologated motorsport
Calibra Technology Ltd was founded in 2013 by race car designer and engineer Andrew Burston to provide calibration services for the fuel flow meters introduced to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship™ and the FIA World Endurance Championship™ in 2014.
Since then, Calibra has become an established, UKAS-accredited supplier of specialised calibration services to the motorsport, general automotive, and marine sectors. The company is increasingly focused on supporting the efforts of OEMs and component suppliers in these industries to meet increasingly stringent fuel economy and emissions standards mandated in the EU and other regions of the world
Calibra’s focus on in-fuel calibration of flow meters used to test and develop combustion engines has given it a unique expertise and edge in this area, reflected in a variety of proprietary solutions embodied in its calibration equipment and software.
Calibra is the sole fuel flow meter calibration provider homologated by the FIA™, the governing body of world motorsport, for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship™ and FIA World Endurance Championship™, and fulfils the same role for the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship® in North America.
Calibra has provided calibrations of fuel flow meters for use in headline racing categories around the world since 2014. Our proprietary process features testing in the customer’s fuel of choice, test matrices of up to 30 flow rates and 30 temperatures, generation of look-up tables, and automated test runs.
